Shibari and Western Bondage, what's the difference?

by Highlander Immortalshibari.com

In the BDSM Universe exist many praticals, but a lot of adepts (and no so adepts), when have contact with rope art, they know the Shibari (Eastern) and Western Bondage differences.

At the first look, shibari and western bondage have the function of immobilizing, but when they are observed with more attention some differences are found. Western Bondage is a technique of fast immobilization, not having concern with the esthetic aspect and avoiding to mark the skin with the ropes.

Shibari demands a lot of ability with ropes, and many patience, that results in a slower process, because the esthetics is so important.

A kind of "play" exists while the shibari is made: caresses, kisses and applications of sadism (slaps in the face, for example), resulting in much more stimulation, sensuality and pleasure. It's a technique that takes to many purposes, they are: sex, discipline and torture.

An outstanding difference is the use of the erotic pressure points of Shiatsu, that stimulate the tied person (see the picture of the erotic pressure points).
